Mr. Sriniwas Rao (Northern International School) 15. Mr. J.S. Hundal (Hindu Public School) 1. Chairperson: Mr. Parveen Patpatia, President, presided over the meeting. 2. Quorum for the Meeting: Chairperson declared the quorum being present 3. Leave of Absence: Fifteen members were present. 4. Confirmation of the Minutes of the previous General Body Meeting held on 25-09-2013: Minutes of the
last General Body Meetingheld on 25th September, 2013 were placed before the members for confirmation.
Members considered and confirmed the same.
5. New Members: The meeting commenced with the introduction of the new members. Ms. Madhu Negi from
Vidhya Devi Jindal School, Mr. Srinivas Rao from Northern International School and Mr J.S. Hundal from
Hindu Public School were welcomed by other members. They were given the membership of Hisar Sahodaya Schools.
6. Website: The members have decided to have a website for Hisar Sahodaya and the secretary
Mr. Mathew Varghese has requested the members to send the details of the individual schools including
their website. The members authorized the President to do the needful.
7. Membership Fee: All the members had paid the Annual subscription fee of Rs. 1000/-. They were given
a receipt for the same.
8. Registration of the Sahodaya with District Registrar: The members authorized the President and Secretary
to do the needful for the registration of the Sahodaya by the District Registrar of Societies. So that a bank
account in the name of Sahodaya Schools can be opened at the earliest. The secretary assured the members
that it would be done before the next General Body Meeting.
9. 20th National Conference of Sahodaya Schools at Amritsar: The members unanimously agreed that one of the
office bearers from Hisar Sahodaya should attend the two days conference at Amritsar. The expenses will
be borne by the Sahodaya. The President agreed to attend.
10. Activities for the session 2013-14: With the permission of the chair the secretary asked the members
to come up with a certain Inter-School Activities which can be conducted in the next four months. There was
a discussion among the members. Later it was decided to have two competitions namely Inter School Dance Competitions
and Inter-School Declamation Contest. Fr. A. Fernandes has agreed to have the Dance Competition at St. Francis
Xavier school, Talwandi Rana. Mr. Mathew Varghese volunteered to hoist the Declamation Contest at Moga
Devi Minda Memorial School, Bagla. It was also decided that the certificates for the competition will be
given by the Sahodaya but the other prizes (shield/ trophy/ cash etc) will be given by the hoist school.
11. O.T.B.A. : The members brainstormed about open text book assessment. Every member actively participated
in it. The members unanimously agreed that the subject teachers of Sahodaya Schools would study the syllabus
and the text thoroughly. They will send the questions to the following Principals for compilation.
The concerned Principals would send the question to the member schools. The details are given:

The secretary would co-ordinate.
12. Inter- School Sports Meet: with the permission of the chair Mr. Srinivas Rao proposed to have an Inter- School
sports meet for the Sahodaya Schools. After a brainstorm it was decided to have a sports meet in the next session
onwards and also formed a committee of three experienced sports teachers to frame the modalities for conducting the meet.
They will meet at D.P.S. and frame the rules & regulations and will submit it in the next General body Meeting

13. Condolence: The members observed a minute silence to pay respect to the departed soul of the sister of Ms. Sunita
Behl who has expired recently.
14. Next General Body Meeting: It was Proposed to hold the next General Body Meeting on 22nd January (Wednesday)
at Moga Devi Minda Memorial School, Bagla. The members considered & approved the same.
15. Vote of Thanks: The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair followed by a tea party.
